Reading International, Inc. (RDIB) has reported 911.81 percent jump in profit for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2016. The company has earned $3.86 million, or $0.16 a share in the quarter, compared with $0.38 million, or $0.02 a share for the same period last year.

Revenue during the quarter grew 23.41 percent to $71.32 million from $57.79 million in the previous year period. Total expenses were 90.73 percent of quarterly revenues, down from 94.60 percent for the same period last year. This has led to an improvement of 387 basis points in operating margin to 9.27 percent.

Operating income for the quarter was $6.61 million, compared with $3.12 million in the previous year period.

"We delivered near record high revenues during the third quarter as our strategic focus in delivering best-in-class cinematic experiences, in addition to strong industry box office revenue growth, helped increase attendance across our cinema businesses," said Ellen Cotter, chair, president and chief executive officer. "During the quarter, we significantly grew net income and EPS, and continued to make progress on several value creation development projects in our real estate portfolio. We are pleased with our results this quarter and believe we remain well-positioned to drive long-term value for stockholders through the opportunistic and synergistic development of entertainment and real estate assets."
 

Days sales outstanding went down to 11 days for the quarter compared with 14 days for the same period last year.
